I had one pleasant stay, of-season (february), in this hotel. It's clean, affordable, the food is good and the staff is very nice. Bus stop is very near, and the buses are cheap, you can drive to Agya Napa or Larnaca anytime for a small price. There is a supermarket near, and a few restoraunts. Nearest beach is 3 min walk away.
In a recent stay at Mariandy Hotel, our experience turned sour as we encountered exceptionally rude staff. Two foreign receptionists not only insulted but also dismissed our legitimate request for lactose-free milk, demonstrating a lack of basic courtesy. The situation escalated when we explained health issues, leading to public humiliation. The hotel's refusal to address concerns, coupled with additional charges for basic services, left us deeply dissatisfied.
During our stay at the Mariandy hotel, we requested lactose-free milk, vegetable or delact breakfast options for health reasons and allergies following recent surgery. Regrettably, the hotel refused, citing its two-star status and suggesting that such requests were more suited for a five-star establishment. Our attempts to communicate with management were thwarted, leaving the issue unresolved. To add insult to injury, when we raised concerns about a towel, the cleaning staff responded disrespectfully. The hotel's staff exhibited a troubling attitude, with employees performing multiple roles simultaneously. Despite reaching out to the booking agency for a refund, our efforts were rebuffed by the hotel.
Never ever go this place!! It the worth service you will ever get. The owner and Manger are ugly, the breakfast is terrible and not fresh. They don't really clean, I was,2 weeks in this ugly place , after they get Arabs customer that shout …
Long term guest over the years, I stayed for a week, everything was ok, then I paid for a month on the condition I could change rooms if needed. A few days after I paid for a month someone moved in above me, when they put on the AC it would vibrate through my room making it impossible to sleep, work and creating ear pain. I immediately asked to move and my request to the Romanian manager Mkayla and her sister the receptionist Gina (who is extremely rude) were not taken serious. Every day I would ask to move, on the seventh day of these problems I asked again (nicely) to move and Gina the receptionist , got upset for 20 minutes including raising her voice at me. I told her to calm down, she then finally offered me another room, instead to the top level, it was the first level and stunk of cigarettes and was clearly going to be noisy. I couldn’t move there. I even offered to pay more to be on level 4 instead of three. The answer was “it’s full” this was a total lie. It was clear they never took me serious, and to them I was just another “complaining guest”.
The next day the cleaners changed my pillows, moving the one good pillow, when I asked Gina for another pillow she was unbelievably rude and dismissive, she laughed in a passive aggressive way, condescended what I said, and then just walked off. I started to get upset. Then I went to my room with no pillow and her Sister the manager Mkayla then rang my room at 9.30pm and started yelling hysterical that the pillow was not changed, I had to tell her to stop, she just kept going. I said “stop” again and so she hung up on me. I rang her back and said she was unprofessional and it was unacceptable to hang up on me like that, she said “you told me to stop so I did what you said and hung up on you”.
This is the type of mentality from both of them, completely unprofessional, also dishonest. They would not even give me a fresh pillow.
Mkayla broke her agreement with me, never changed the room like she agreed to when I paid a month, and justified it with “all hotels are noisy like this with the AC, even five star hotels” which is simply ridiculous. She never even checked my room for the noise, no one did.
Then another week went past and I didnt see her the whole time, I asked Gina to ask her for a refund for the rest of my stay (9 days left at this stage) Mkayla agreed and then charged me full rate for the last nine days. 15 years I have been working around the world and living in hotels and these two should not be working in hotels. I was a client at Mariandy on and off for five years. Mkayla then told me “probably best you don’t come back” when she gave me the small refund, as if I would want to. Disgrace.
One star for the very helpful staff. What you paid, you will receive BUT, we booked a room for a family of four adults. The room provided was clearly for two ppl. Night tables moved under the desk and in the same place they add two campbeds. No space at all to move around the room. Maximum 15 cm between each bed. Paid so they could bring a fridge to our room 2 euro per night. The bathroom was small but fully equipped with hand soap, shower gel and shampoo bottles.
Order soda drinks and the employee said he didn't have cold ones but he can offer some ice. In the bill THEY CHARGE THE ICE!!! 1.20 per glass. Breakfast was tasty and they also have tea, filter coffee, orange juice and water.
Huge plus is that they have a big selection of food on the bar menu for anyone that wants to order from breakfast, omelettes, pasta and burgers, sandwiches, club sandwiches, pizza and more. The club sandwich I had was amazing. Veranda is big enough but again only with two chairs instead of four as the room was clearly for two ppl. There is a parking place behind the hotel with handicapped accessible entrance.
The room service is bad and the receptionist is rude. They change the towels and clean the room after 3 days. The hotel is old and needs to be renovated. The breakfast is acceptable but does not include the Cypriot halloumi. It is not recommended.
We were at the hotel in January. We were very lucky with the weather, it was sunny and warm. The room was comfortable, the breakfasts were delicious. The last night we left around 4, the receptionist ordered us a cab and packed us breakfast. It was so nice! We still remember it to this day. Thank you so much for a great stay at your hotel and prosperity to you!
